Headshot Photography

My interest in photography combined with a passion for acting led me to start producing portfolios for performers.

Over 20 years I photographed thousands of performers.

I was trained by Mr John Boyle, a retired photographer who had worked in film since the 1920’s. John built my studio flashes and helped me design and operate a  home darkroom.

Eventually the pressures of combining photography, music, acting and parenting became too much and my headshot photography career was over.

My thoughts on headshot photography

A great portrait draws the viewer into the photo. We want to know more about the subject. We want to be welcomed by them. Creating a great performer’s headshot was more about acting than the technical aspects of lighting etc. My work as a headshot photographer was about getting to know the subject and relaxing them to the point their EYES exuded warmth, passion, pain, strength and danger! (But mostly warmth)
