ABOUT ALEX
Alex began his music career at the age of 16, developing a loyal fan base through busking all over Australia. However, his success on the second season of The Voice- Australia in 2013 widened his audience exponentially.
Alex credits Voice judge Seal’s advice as giving him a totally new aspect on his music.
“… we as humans over analyse everything and the minute we stop overthinking and live in the moment is the minute we are free to do what we want. This freedom is what you really need on a stage, especially when you are trying to share parts of yourself with an audience.”
Alex describes his style as “a mix between Folk, Soul, Blues, Jazz and Rock – a strange mix – part of that is down to the diverse range of characters I have in my band. My drummer is Chilean and my percussionist is Mauritian. My bass player loves Funk and Soul and my piano player is really into Jazz! That explains part of it, the way in which, as a band, we express songs I have written.”
